Mogadishu – President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, departed for the United Arab Emirates after receiving an official invitation from his counterpart Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, SONNA reported.

The two-day work visit will focus on strengthening the brotherly ties between the two countries, according to the presidential statement.

“During his stay, the President of the Republic will hold talks with United Arab Emirates leaders, discussing a range of issues including facilitating transportation, business and collaboration,” it added.

However, this is the first abroad trip by the Head of State since his re-election on 15 May. Somalia and the United Arab Emirates enjoy a mutual relationship. Somalis are the largest African community in Dubai with booming business.
